When I used to work in the office, one of my favorite things if someone complimented my outfit or shoes was to tell them how much I spent on it. Not to brag, but to share the excitement of how little I spent on something that made me feel great and didn't hurt the checkbook at the same time. Some of the ladies thought it was strange that I would share that kind of information rather than just take the compliment but others would share my enthusiasm for finding such a great deal. So for those of you that fall into the second category, this blog is for you.
Now that I'm a momma to four incredible kiddos (3 boys & 1 girl) I have the privilege to work from home but that also means I don't have a full time salary so I have to be extra frugal especially when it comes to buying clothes for myself. I love fashion. I always have. I've rarely paid retail and typically won't buy something unless it's on sale AND I have a coupon. I do make exceptions but for the most part this is how I shop.
Over the past year, I worked hard to lose the baby weight and lost a total of 65 pounds. As absolutely wonderful as that has been, it's also meant I've had to replace my ENTIRE wardrobe, I mean entire, all while trying to be as frugal as possible.
Since this is my first post on this new blog, I wanted to share this picture of me from my anniversary date this past fall. Prior to weight loss, I was wearing 2xl dresses. This dress is a size Small. I felt incredible because I loved the colors and the print and the tag. BUT one of the BEST things I loved about this dress is that I spent $3 on it. Say WHAT?!!! It was from JC Penney, on clearance and I had an additional text coupon so after all the discounts my total was $3 on some change.
My hope is to share some of my finds along the way to inspire you to be on the lookout and maybe shop the local thrift store before hitting the mall. Or browsing the clearance racks and if you don't have a coupon in hand asking the store associate if there are coupons right now or if there are any special promotions going on. You'd be surprised at how many times I've received extra discounts by asking that. I hope you'll follow me and my adventures. And share your great finds with me along the way so we can do a virtual "happy dance" together! :)
